Kaela Humphries, the older sister of Kim Kardashian's ex Kris Humphries, has signed a plus-size modeling contract with the prestigious agency Ford Models.
Kaela Humphries, 28, appeared on Kardashian's reality programs and made her runway debut in September 2011 at Richie Rich's fashion show in New York City during Fashion Week. The show also featured Ice-T's wife, Coco (see photos). Kaela Humphries was previously signed to the Wilhelmina agency.
The Minnesota native told the Minneapolis Star Tribune she is 5'10" and added: "People think I look like her when my hair is straight," referring to Kardashian's sister and co-star, Khloe.
Kaela Humphries is also "a true size 16-18," Gary Dakin, head of the agency's plus-size division, Ford+, told Fashionista.com, adding that she "is going to be a fantastic asset to Ford."
"Congrats to my sister @Kaelahumphries for officially signing with Ford!" Kris Humphries, 27, said on his Twitter page.
The model, a 2005 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, said after her runway debut, in an interview with networktalent.com, that she hopes to once day own her own clothing line "that centers around making women with curves look sexy and fashion-forward at the same time."
Kardashian, who is also known for her curvy figure, and her sisters have several apparel collections of their own. The two used to exchange Twitter messages before Kardashian filed for divorce in October and the reality star also sent her flowers after her runway debut, as seen in one of Kaela Humphries' Twitter messages.
She told the website she wants to serve as a good example for girls who look up to her.
"I want girls and women to feel confident in their own skin and with their own image," she said. "True beauty comes from within. I want people to believe that no dream is too big!"
